Sarah Garrett Chief Operating Officer

Sarah has years of experience in project management, executive leadership, and event planning. These qualities made her a natural fit for the Gryphons, which she joined in 2013 as executive assistant to the head coach. At LIT, her role is event management, planning, and the smooth execution of large-scale projects. Sarah has mastery in project planning, management, and facilitation, and she uses her expertise in operations and procurement to turn every project into a win. Sarah has a Doctorate of Education with a focus on creating organizational improvement plans for students emphasizing mental health. She believes in constant innovation and advancement, which is why Sarah is currently completing an MBA in Sustainable Commerce at the University of Guelph.

Stu Lang Shepherd of Unicorns

A recent inductee to the University of Guelph Sports Hall of Fame, Stu’s name is synonymous with the success of the Gryphon Football Team. As Head Coach, he led the team to a Yates Cup victory in 2015. Stu was a seven-year professional Canadian football player for the Edmonton Eskimos with whom he won five Grey Cup Championships. Topping the list of Stu’s most recent philanthropic efforts include the naming of the Gordon S. Lang School of Business and building the Queen’s Football Stadium, University of Guelph Gryphon Football Pavilion, and Gryphon Football Performance Centre. The school of business holds a particular significance for Stu. His father’s legacy lives on in the name of the institute and also in the mantra students are taught: live your dreams and find ways to leave the world a better place. Stu adds to LIT his wealth of leadership and strategic management skills gained as a former senior business executive with CCL Industries.
